Registration has begun for the annual four-day Bayou Lafourche Paddle. The event, sponsored by the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program and its Foundation, offers local residents a new perspective of Bayou Lafourche while immersing out-of-state visitors in bayou culture. The 10th annual Paddle Bayou Lafourche is scheduled for April 7-10, with the 52-mile journey beginning in Donaldsonville and ending in Lockport. The four-day trek treats paddlers to scenic views, local food, live music and other cultural performances, all while traveling past backyards decorated with encouraging signs, waving residents, impromptu accordion music and occasional sweets. Fletcher Technical Community College will hold a series of events to commemorate Women's History Month. The events are scheduled throughout the month of March and will be held at Fletcher's main campus, 310 St. Charles St., Houma, or at Nicholls State University's Duhe Building, 235 Civic Center Blvd., Houma. The Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild's parishwide School Art Show is scheduled through March 19 at Downtown Art Gallery 630, 630 Belanger St., downtown Houma. Ribbons will be awarded and children winning ribbons will be offered free art classes in June.

The 13th Annual Jubilee: A Festival of the Arts and Humanities at Nicholls State University, is scheduled through April 16. The International Coin Collectors Association holds an exhibition of 9:00 to 6:00 p.m. on March 18 and 9:00 to 6:00 p.m. March 19 at Hampton Inn & Suites, 826 N. Canal Blvd. Thibodaux. Collectors are hoping to see items such as coins and paper money issued before 1965, including gold objects of class rings, earrings inconsistent, broken necklaces, gold coins and ingots.
